I won't hide 03:54
I won't hide I've been trying to make it look as if I'm not Scared of lying, but this is what I've got Nobody told me that's what it takes But I won't hide, no I won't hide I've been waiting for a simple way to fit in Anticipating on whatever's happening Passing trains faster than a plane I don't ride, no I don't ride Take me with you to our city of song We'll fly like the wind to the place where we belong Take the next step, we'll be the talk of the town We've been there before It can't bring us down anymore We've been stalling but what else can you do To keep from falling when the picture's bugging you See the sunset, a giant fire fly But I won't cry, no I won't cry Is this heaven or just a sacred place Where I can touch your sanctuary face Who needs proof to recognize the artist’s loving mind That never dies, it never dies

Lonely song 03:45
Lonely song It takes a lot of time, we don't go far Sitting in the back seat of this old car It's always raining; sweet rain is pouring down on me We make a lot of friends along the way They come and they go every day It's pretty cold, I saw some snow along the way Next time I'll be going I'm sure I'm gonna bring her along Next time I'll be going I don't want to sing my lonely song These cloudy days can't get me down If I can just walk a while in this part of town You'd like this place, I miss your face, I wish I could see your smile I sing my songs wherever I go That’s what I need to do Why I took this road, I don’t know When it’s tearing me away from you It takes a lot of time, we don't go far Sitting in the back seat of this old car It's always raining, sometimes these clouds are all that I can see

Back Porch 03:13
Back porch I wish we had a back porch and a little sunshine No real trouble on our minds We’d drink a lot a beer or sip a bit of wine And play every record we could find Sitting on the back porch sounds like a dream With the dark clouds hanging in the sky We dream together but we can’t change the weather So I’m starting to wonder why Our poor little back porch made out of wood Standing in the snow and rain Looks like a nightmare, maybe I should leave it there Somewhere in the corner of my brain Sitting in the cold waiting for the rain There’s one thing that we won’t get A genuine back porch Sunday afternoon With the sounds and the smells and the sweat A cool pair of boots won’t grow you any roots We can’t even fool a blind man But honey, what do we care? Let’s get another pair And stumble on the only way we can If we want to hear a cricket we’ve got to buy a ticket And fly to the Texas Hills I’ll rock your chair, we’ll breathe in the air Just live without the frills Is it weird to sing when you hit the right string But you know nobody’s buying In our wet little land, flat little land We just keep on trying

One biscuit 03:46
One biscuit Red flowers, white flowers, blue flowers or maybe she likes yellow Picking the perfect color defines the perfect fellow White chocolate, black chocolate, sweet chocolate, maybe a bottle of red wine White might be better or anything but white could be fine They're standing at the door And she knows what they're hoping for They keep on trying, keep on trying Some talk, some tea, one biscuit Nothing more, nothing more A good book, a nice book, a book that's funny or a bit exciting Or should it be an intellectually stimulating masterpiece of writing? Perfume, all women like perfume and men that smell like a rose Or could she fall for someone offering different vibes of nature for the nose? New shoes... Where did I put my new shoes?

You will be fine Don't cry, I'll be around You're still my baby boy Don't fret, you will be found There's so much to enjoy You'll learn to enjoy I know you can see But you don't trust the view How hard can it be To believe that it's true Love is all around you You will be fine at the end of the line You will be fine I know You will be fine at the end of the line I know Your eyes are like stars They shine right through the gloom You try to hide the scars Of life's secrets hurting you Life's secrets hunting you

Love of my life He cries his heart out for a living People come and listen to his songs He's been away from home so many times before Still he knows where he belongs Love of my life, love of my life Some things never change Love of my life She had her ups and downs like any lover But the boys never failed to make her stay That's the way it goes and no one ever knows Why the anger starts to grow day by day The point of no return lies far behind him Feeling lonely sharing the same bed He never could have thought he'd ever feel this way With the only girl he ever really had The time for change is right when you just know it Every single soul has a right to fly You step into the pain and no one can explain You can't always find the reason why He cries his heart out for a living People come and listen to his songs He's been away from home so many times before

Crossroads 03:49
Crossroads How can it be when you're looking at me That I feel so insecure Of all that I've done and of what I've become And how I just long to be free You took me to places where I've never been I lingered, I laughed and I cried Over all that’s forbidden The thoughts that were hidden That should have been locked up inside So how can it be when you're smiling at me That I just don't know what to do Everything’s broken and everything's blue And I can’t stop thinking of you Searching for signs that can show me the way Looking for answers in vain It feels like I'm wandering, just going astray Running away from this pain So what can I do, I'm still dreaming of you A picture so hard to ignore I know it can’t be cause you’re not with me Still I keep on hoping for more I’ll cut my own track, I will never go back Though it seems I’ve got nowhere to go Somewhere I’ll be waiting, longing for you I’m yours and you’ll never know

Your first lie You missed the dying prince, Chicago cold A crying mama and getting old The rising sea, the last living bee And your first lie The never ending story of human rights Heartbreaking love and birthday fights Little uniforms, murdered unicorns And your first lie And you missed the needle and all the pain And you missed missing home in the cold, cold rain The killing of angels and elephant kings And your first lie But there's a place close by where you belong I see your face close by where you belong You won't have to fight over virtual violence In a world without mercy and inconceivable silence And you're not afraid of the bully boy beat-ups And your first lie Easy to love, easy to long for You could've changed it all and you don't even know Destiny's beauty can hit you with a blow You missed puberty and all the insecurity Of your first lie

Sing a song 03:31
Sing a song I finally made it, I passed every test This is what I dreamed of all this time This place full of beauty, happiness and joy I feel like putting all my thoughts into rhyme I hate assignments but still I’m here I don’t like every song I’m singing but it’s ringing in my ear This is the place where I belong I’m scared of people, especially you But I think it will get better in a year or two But I simply have to sing a song And when I get a sheet That I have to read Some stupid thing that I’ve got to sing I look as close as I can But no bell starts to ring Cause I can’t get what’s happening I know a million brilliant songs are lying on the shelf But still some crazy guy is yelling I should write a tune myself Well I don’t care as long as I can sing a song I hate assignments but still I’m here I don’t like every song I’m singing but it’s ringing in my ear This is the place where I belong I simply have to sing a song

Don't forget 03:43
Don't forget Colors change the whole year through While every sound is drenched in blue Don't forget my arms, don't forget my arms Follow your gut or flip a coin But keep your eye on the vanishing point And don't forget my heart, don't forget my heart Lean on me This place can scare the hell out of me But through your eyes it's easy to see The beauty of it all, the beauty of it all When it all settles, it might turn Find a way to keep the fire burn Listen to my love, listen to my love Sometimes it's hard to play the right card But I guess that's all in the game Who can tell right from wrong, when the feeling's so strong? No one knows how the wind's gonna blow But let's just go with the bumpy flow Welcome to my world, welcome to my world You never know what's next to come You find a friend and then you lose someone Hang on to my song, hang on to my song Colors change the whole year through While every sound is drenched in blue Don't forget my arms, don't forget my arms Follow your gut or flip a coin But keep your eye on the vanishing point And don't forget my heart, don't forget my heart
11.
This is how we dance There is so much going on It's hard to keep up with it all There's stuff enough for a song a day But it's hard to sing your blues away We can laugh or we can cry Or we can look for love while time passes by This is how we dance we're stepping two feet to the beat We don't know what jump we're heading for This is how we dance just guessing who's the one to lead But nothing's gonna stop it anymore Nothing's gonna stop us anymore One and one is more than two Is that a truth that's bothering you? Love is blind but never wrong Let go and play along You can't run, you can't hide You have to feel the pain when your standing on the side I don't need a smile, I can do without I walked down the aisle and I still don't know what we’re talking about
12.
As long as I've got you I've been dreaming of living in the heart of town But I don't need to know what's going down Oh baby, as long as I've got you I don't need money, don't need fame Nobody needs to know my name Oh baby, as long as I've got you I can live without booze, that's easy to do I might even skip a beer or two Oh baby, as long as I've got you I don't need a mansion on a plot of land With all I want in the palm of my hand Oh baby, as long as I've got you When you and and I just stick together Come what may it really don't matter When the whole damn world is falling apart I know I'm safe inside your heart I don't need more loving, you're all I can take We're making all the love that I want to make Oh baby, as long as I've got you

about

Back porch is Tip Jar's first album. Pure and honest songs from the back porch. After having recorded a couple of duets for Bart's solo albums, the two discovered that their voices blended in a natural way. They decided to create room for a duet based collaboration and that's how Tip Jar was born. Bart and Arianne started to write songs together, and recorded them in a pure and honest manner, always letting the essence and character of the song prevail.

Tip Jar The Netherlands

Bart de Win and Arianne Knegt create songs about love and life on the hippie side of country, involving their musical friends from all over the world. They record them in a pure and honest manner, always letting the essence and character of the song prevail.
